Hard to find is a understatement when it comes to this Half Plate Ambrotype By Charles Rees Of Richmond VA. Image is identified as William Milton Of the 39th Georgia Co I Gilmore County Georgia Aka Gilmores Tigers. Milton has quite the history, being one of the Georgia Delegates to vote for succession.

Captured July 4th 1863 At Vicksburg Mississippi paroled four days later Milton Continued to fight and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel and finally surrendered with his men April 29th 1865 in Greensboro NC. He would later be assassinated in his home while eating dinner according to a newspaper article.

Image comes in a full thermoplastic case. It has been cracked at some point but was professionally restored and stabilized.

Image comes with paperwork from the Conservation Center for art and historic artifacts detailing the process. Also comes with sworn statements from family and print outs of the newspaper article.

Case snaps and closes securely. Just a wow image all the way around and as far as confederate images go is right up there at the top.
