A nice tag has the image labeled as Peter Royal Grandfather Crippens Stable Boy Vet. Barrington when I was a very young child.

The image of Peter is a clear glass ambrotype. 1861 re-enlisted on 11/25/1863 and was mustered out 7/22/1865. The service of the 27.

Organized at Springfield and mustered in September 20, 1861. November 2-5, and duty there until January 6, 1862.

Movements on Kinston March 4-12. Wise's Forks March 8-10. Ordered to New Berne March 12 and duty there until June. Mustered out June 26, 1865. Old members mustered out September 27, 1864. Regiment lost during service 9 Officers and 128 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 3 Officers and 261 Enlisted men by disease. Peter was part of the D. Anderson Post and died June 26.
