We have just acquired a massive collection of early photographic images from the estate of a New York doctor. For the past 60 years, he bought and acquired images from antique shops, flea markets and privately, through acquaintances. There are thousands of images that include daguerreotypes, ambro types, tintypes, CDVs, cabinet cards and union cases. These images are fresh to the market, untouched and exactly the way we received them. We hope you enjoy them as much as the doctor did.

Here is a beautiful real photo IDd CDV image of a high ranking Admiral or Commander. This full-bearded officer is wearing a large shield-shaped medal with crossed cannons and anchor in the center. This officer autographed the back of this CDV.

Its hard to decipher, but I believe its J. The Civil War Navy buffs our there know who he is. The bottom edge reads (I think) 34th NY Battery. The studio back mark reads Silvester Roe, Flushing L.
