Original 19th century cabinet card photograph of Civil War soldier Oliver Freet, identified in period pencil on the verso: O. B 130th Regt Pa Vols. Photographed by Shade & Busser, York, Pennsylvania. Strong regional connection, as Freet enlisted at York and served in Company B, 130th Pennsylvania Infantry. Service confirmed via Pennsylvania rosters: mustered August 11, 1862; mustered out with company May 21, 1863.

The 130th PA saw action during the Antietam and Fredericksburg campaigns. Scarce fully identified Civil War soldier image with clear inscription and supporting records. Condition: Some surface wear, light spotting, and corner wear. Image remains strong with good contrast.
