Civil War Tintype Photo, Original, Union Soldier & Women, Gutta Percha Case

  
Vintage tintype photograph of a Civil War Union Soldier, standing behind two seated women, era of 1850 - 1899, most likely mid-1860's. The glass-covered photograph is mounted in an embossed leather case with a latch closure. A faded red velvet embossed pad on the inner side of the case to protect the photo.

It is loose in the case, the original glue can be seen under it. The image is surrounded in gilt floral design which is also around the edge of the case. The hinge of the case is loose on the top. The cover of the case has come loose in a small place on the binding.

The tintype has darkened over the years as is normal. Dimensions are approximtely 3 inches by 4 inches.

I was left this by a deceased relative who was from PA, so this is possibly from that state.
