Early Antique MASSACHUSETTS CDV Photo Album WITH ORIGINAL CDV & TINTYPE PHOTOS, Antebellum, Civil War Period, EXCELLENT CONDITION!! DESCRIPTION: This is a nice example of an original antebellum/Civil War period Carte de Visite (CDV) photo album to hold THE MOST POPULAR PHOTO MEDIUM OF THE DAY.

I checked a couple of the backmarks on the photos, and one was made in SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS and one was made in WESTFORD, MASSACHUSETTS, indicating that most if not all photos in the album came from MASSACHUSETTS, so that the original owner of the album probably lived there. 25 pages for photos, so made to hold 50 standard size carte de visites.

STILL CONTAINS VIRTUALLY ALL OF THE PERIOD CDVs AND TINTYPES. Both paper CDVs and tintypes mounted on CDV size cards.

Six of the photos are the nice tintype photos. Some of them appear to be from the CIVIL WAR YEARS, although some of them look more like they are from the 1870's. Nice photos of women in period dresses, men, and cute babies and children.

Measures standard CdV album size, 7" x 5 1/2" x 2 1/2 thick. This is ONE OF THE NICEST C de V ALBUMS I HAVE SEEN, with tight binding, no torn pages, and nicely embossed leather cover. The only flaw is that it is missing part of one of the two fancy brass album "locks".

This could be added to your photo or photo album collection as is, or the photos could be removed and THE ALBUM CAN BE USED TO STORE OTHER PERIOD CDV'S FROM YOUR PHOTO COLLECTION. YOU JUST DONT FIND THEM IN THIS CONDITION ANY MORE, and very nice with more than 45 original CdVs and tintypes.

SIZE/CONDITION: Standard size C de V cards, in excellent condition. Photos are very clear and excellent condition.
