RARE Civil War Era CDV of Robert R. Corson, Recruiter for 54th Massachusetts

  

This rare Carte de Visite (CDV) photograph features Robert R. Corson played a crucial role in recruiting African American soldiers for the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment-the first Black regiment organized in the northern states. The regiment's bravery, especially during the assault on Fort Wagner, was later depicted in the acclaimed 1989 film Glory.

The CDV's reverse side bears the imprint of photographer H. This piece is a significant artifact for Civil War collectors and historians.
