The Great Central Sanitary Fair of. The Great Central Sanitary Fair of 1864 in Philadelphia was held on Logan Square. (now known as Logan Circle) from June 7 to June 28, 1864. The sprawling fairgrounds occupied the entire square and featured a massive 540-foot-long central hall designed to raise funds for the U. Sanitary Commission to support Union soldiers. The fair featured the massive C entral hall. It was the largest "sanitary fair" of the Civil. War, famously visited by President Abraham Lincoln, who donated copies. 1885 American military officer and politician who served as the 18th president of the United States from 1869 to 1877. As Commanding General, Grant led the Union Army to victory in the American Civil War in 1865 and briefly served as U. PHOTOGRAPHER'S IMPRINT ON THE REVERSE. DIMENSIONS: 2 3/8" × 3 15/16".
