CDV of General George Bayard, West Point class of 1856, fought Indians in Kansas & Colorado prior to the Civil War being wounded in the face with an Arrow (tilts his head away from the camera to hide the scar), Colonel of the 1st Pa Cavalry in 1861, promoted to head of Cavalry for the III Corps in 1862, fought at Dranesville Va, Port Republic, Cedar Mtn and was hit by Shrapnel during the Battle of Fredericksburg in December of 1862 which killed him.
