Authentic Civil War-era carte de visite depicting a Union soldier in uniform, photographed by Bare & Lefevre, successors to Fred Clark, located in Eby & Kunkel's Building, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The verso bears their full studio imprint along with a 2¢ U.

Internal Revenue stamp, hand-canceled - confirming production between 1864 and 1866, during the closing years of the Civil War. This soldier stands proudly beside a studio column and curtain, dressed in regulation frock coat and kepi, with his brass buttons clearly visible. The setting and date place him among the thousands of Pennsylvania volunteers who passed through Camp Curtin, the largest Union Army training camp in the North.
