This is a wonderful complete family album of a Civil War Officer & his family. Overall size of album is 5 1/4 x 4 x 2 3/4.

Album is full with 50 images. 39 cdvs & 11 tintypes. The album is the Carson family from the Ohio & Illinois area. 2 cdvs are of the same officer with 1 bust view & signed.

The 2nd is full length in uniform with sash. Carson of the 98th Ohio.

Served as Captain of Co. Of the 98th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.

This info is on his Find a Grave site. Almost all images are identified & primarily family members. Several different views of J. Cdv of old man with long hair was a famous minister of the Restoration movement.

There are 2 Rewards of Merit cards & an advertising card with a child pouring a drink. It is for Smith & Dunbar, Druggists & Chemists of Monmouth, Illinois.

There is also a piece of fabric most likely from a woman's dress. Cities were primarily Monmouth, Abington & Young America, Illinois. Names are mostly Carson, but also Bain, Wood, Butler, Lowe, McCoy and more.

Album is a beautiful bright red. Binding good & latch is present & works. Some wear on edges & corners. Pages have some soiling, spots, stains & a couple of tears.
