For reference, here is a CDV of Hoyle in his CSA uniform. It's NOT included: Most of the photos in the album are New Orleans, North Carolina, and Missouri. I believe there are three from Whitney's Gallery in Minnesota.
Quite a few are identified. The photos overall are in very good to excellent condition, and look better than my camera shots, which came out a bit dark. Daguerreotypes Captain Wilkes image is a 1/4 plate in very good condition. I see tarnish spots, but no damage. The underside of the glass, which is very thick, is dirty, but can be cleaned. Looks like the original seals are in place but very fragile. Covers are separated along the spine. Wilkes' dag is also very good.. Couple of spots, but no obvious damage.Seals are inside the case but not intact. All of the photos listed are original. None of the Civil War related CDVs in the album are trimmed and are in very good vintage condition. The album is in fair to good condition..
