CIVIL War Cabinet Photo By Mathew Brady, Camp Scene African American Horse Mosby

  

There is an African American holding a horse and one officer reading a map, the other a Mosby ranger are contemplating the next skirmish. I believe this to be John Mosby after doing research and comparing images of him. The other gentleman in the image, matches photos known of Mosby's Rangers.

The hat matches those worn by a lot of Mosby's Rangers. The writing on the bottom of image is faint, but I think it reads "For Gen Mosby, from the Captains". Mount has soiling and has been trimmed.

Image is in excellent condition. Mount measures 8 x 6 inches and image is 4.75 x 3.25.
