An authentic Civil War era Carte de Visite (CDV) portrait taken by the famed Tyson Brothers of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Charles and Isaac Tyson ran Gettysburg's premiere photography studio during the 1860s, famously taking some of the earliest post-battle landscapes of the Gettysburg Battlefield in July 1863. This portrait features a young gentleman wearing a dark coat and bowtie, styled in a classic 1860s vignette.

Most importantly, the reverse bears an authentic 3-Cent Green U. The stamp is directly hand-canceled in black ink: "Tyson 1864", firmly dating this photograph to the height of the American Civil War in Gettysburg!
