Sixth plate size tintype of an unidentified member of Company A, 6th Wisconsin Infantry, a regiment from the famed Iron Brigade of the Army of the Potomac. This soldier is posed in front of a painted back drop showing a small structure gazebo? He's uniformed in a commercial sack coat with large veteran re-enlistment stripes on the cuffs, and holding a hat decked out with plume, officer grade hat cord, large commercial 1st Corps 1st Division badge on the side, and letter A/number 6 on the front. According to research gathered from the 1909 book History of the Saulk County Riflemen, Co. Who re-enlisted in late 1863, however by the time of their re-enlistment many were non-commissioned officers.
