Straight from a collection in Tennessee comes this Rare 1860's Abraham Lincoln CDV US President-Elect Civil War Political. My research leads me to believe this is a pretty rare CDV of President-Elect Abraham Lincoln.
It believe it's from a sitting with Alexander Gardner on February 24, 1861 in Washington D. Personally, I haven't seen this pose of Lincoln before. The CDV has a Spanish transcription on the reverse side. It's possible the CDV has been trimmed at the top, probably to fit in an album at some point. The photograph itself has not been trimmed, just the cardboard at the top.
Very nice original piece of history here. Measures: 3 3/4" X 2 7/16". Nice clean condition, wonderful patina. Don't let this wonderful piece get away! Note: The English translation of the Spanish is The Great Lincoln.
