He sits in full dress with his sword belt buckle in clear view, while holding his sword downwards in his right hand. Interestingly, accompanying the ambrotype to the left is a blank Silvered copper sheet (like those used for Dags) that acts as a mirror. Case: Thermoplastic, Geometric (Berg 3-272 Common). Fantastic Addition to Any Photograph and/or Civil War Collection! Please Note: We have recently acquired a large collection of Civil War Images, 19th Century Thermoplastic "Union" and other Cases, and other various 19th Century Images.
Image shows minor dust and minor mat abrasions. Clarity is nice on the sword. Accompanying silvered copper plate mirror shows moderate scratching and tarnishing, but works for fun. Case is in excellent condition with very light exterior wear, very minor fleabite chips along the edges.Hinges intact and clasp is functioning, original paper label intact.
