Beautiful 1/4 Plate Tintype of armed Union Cavalryman with Model 1840 Saber with sword knot. Has issued shell jacket, mounted trousers and forage cap bearing crossed sabers and what looks like "11" or "II" and "A" Housed in complete leatherette case. The hook on the clasp doesn't seem to want to stay locked, but possible the tab just needs to be bent slightly to keep it hooked. Are not on the actual image and the image is much sharper and nicer in person.
