Confederate Ambrotype Image Gilted Tinted Artillery Officer American Civil War

  
Up for your consideration is this superb Confederate Ambrotype of a young Artillery officer. He has a wonderfully non-regulation look with open coat, civilian-type vest with watch fob, white shirt and large bow tie. He has very lightly tinted rosy cheeks and his coat and kepi buttons are gilted as is his watch fob. His cuffs and kepi have been trimmed in artillery red. What leads us to believe he is an officer is the fact that the top of the kepi has been gilted. The gilting has spread out a bit but was probably a braid design. The case is missing one half but the gold frame and glass are in good shape.

The leather has a blemish that looks like a cut but is just a surface strip of some type. The image measures 2 and 1/2 by 3 inches. A wonderful addition to any collection! I will answer any questions you might have regarding this image to the best of my ability, so please write.
