An original Civil War CDV Photograph full seated view of a soldier wearing a 9 button frock coat with bright trim on the collar and 9 button coat sleeves. The sharp image bears a reverse imprint for P. Frankville, a village in Winneshiek County, near Decorah, Iowa fielded a number of volunteers, many from Company K, 38th Iowa Volunteer Infantry (the famous " Martyr Regiment"). The coat design matches those issued by the State of Iowa when the unit was formed in mid 1862. Small edge cut, Overall VG & sharp image. Rev w US Revenue stamp.
