Civil War Brigadier General John McArthur CDV. This original photo of the General was taken by Army Photographers Barr & Young at Vicksburg Mississippi right after the Vicksburg Siege. General McArthur was appointed Colonel of the 12th Illinois Infantry. Then promoted and given command of the 1st Brigade, which became known as the Highland Brigade because of his Scottish birth. Hes Brigade saw action at Ft Donelson, Shiloh, Corinth, Siege of Vicksburg, Nashville and Ft.

This CDV is in excellent condition with sharp corners and no blemishes. A wonderful piece of Civil War history.
