1/4 PLATE ARTILLERY AMBROTYPE- Bearded Subject Wears Cap with Gilded Cross Cannons. Early war, plain glass ambrotype has "Relievo" effect verso. Subject looks like an officer but no shoulder insignia is visible perhaps an effort to avoid the attention of sharpshooters. Quarter-plate ambro in full case with hinge.

Case is worn but solid, pad has two tears. Item permanently guaranteed vintage and authentic. This is an original vintage photograph from the period, it is NOT a reproduction. Condition : Very Good Plus - A fine portrait.
