For sale is a Civil War Era Albumen Photograph of who I believe to be Henry W Cobb who served with the 47th Regiment Massachusetts Infantry (Militia) during the war. A quick record search found him on the National Park Service database. The frame measures 15 x 13 and the image measures about 7 x 5 inches.
There is a old pencil inscription on the back that appears to read Henry W Copp 5th Reg MVM. This likely is a pre civil war photo of him before he joined the 47th. He has what appears to be a rare Charlestown Boston Belt Plate and full Militia outfit. A similar plate is found in O'donell & Cambell's American Military Belt Plate book (see photo). It is in great shape for its age showing some slight signs of age.
Absolutely great expression on the face. Great image worthy of further research!!Thanks and check out my other items! The item "Civil War Albumen Photograph of H.
