CDV of General Alfred Terry, Colonel 2nd Connecticut Infantry at Bull Run, Colonel of the 7th Connecticut Vols when transferred to the Carolina's, promoted to Brigadier General in 1862, heavily involved in the Union's attacks on Morris Island Fort Wagner and Charleston SC, replaced David Birney as commander of the X Corps after his death in 1864, Led the campaign against Fort Fisher at the War's end earning the Thanks of Congress, highly thought of commander with no professional background, stayed in the Army as a Brigadier General and led the Campaign against the Sioux in 1876 which led to the Little Big Horn and was the last commander to give orders to George Custer.
