Up for sale is this CIVIL WAR OR PRE CIVIL WAR MILITIA OFFICER AMBROTYPE HALF PLATE. I do not have much experience with identifying these.

Here is what I can tell you about this ambrotype: Half plate It has gold braid and bullion dress epaulettes gilded by the photographer. I can not find any identifying marks. The ambrotype's case has only one side. What is in the photos is all that I received with it.

This officer could be pre civil war militia, civil war or possibly foreign. I'm not sure what the "creases" are in the pic but the glass is not cracked. I'm not sure what causes them or what they are called. First of all I would like to say THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
