Union Civil War Cavalry Troopers Tintype Leather Cased Image Gilted Swords

  
Up for your consideration is this wonderful tintype image of two unknown Union Cavalry troopers from the American Civil War. These young men are dressed in Union shell jackets with 13 gilted front buttons and two collar buttons. They have wonderful gilted epaulettes and hat insignia of crossed swords. Their sword hilts have also been nicely gilted. An excellent study of sword hangers, belts and portepee. The leather case has separated but both pieces match with a fruit basket motif. The gold frames and glass are in intact condition. It is a 6 plate size measuring 2 and 1/2 by 3 inches. The images are very clear and sharp. A wonderful addition to any collection!
