Civil War 1/6 plate Tintype, Older First Sergeant with female

  

Interesting 1/6th plate view of an older gentleman who is a Union first sergeant. You can see a bit of gray in his beard. The individually applied chevrons, dark blue trousers, and unusual hat may point to an early war image. A well-dressed woman accompanies him, presumably his wife.

There is a crease in the image that you can see that has caused the emulsion to come off, and the case has some damage as seen in the images. Tintype is a shade dark, so included a brightened scan so you can see details. Even with condition issues, this is an interesting image with some unusual details.
