Very Rare and original, ca1865 Composite CDV Photograph of John Wilkes Booth, Assassin of President Abraham Lincoln and six of his co-conspirators - Lewis Powell, David Herold, George Atzerodt, Edmundgler and Michael O'Laughlen. This exceptionally rare, Albumen Photograph measures approx. 2 1/4 by 3 1/4 and is mounted on its original, square cornered, CDV Card Mount (overall size of card mount is 2 3/8" by 4"). This wonderful, Composite Image is titled "Booth and His Associates" and features a very rare, seated portrait of John Wilkes Booth at the center surrounded by vignette, bust portraits of Herold, Atzerodt,gler, Arnold, O'Laughlin(sic), and Payne. Each individual portrait includes the name of the subject below. The card is blank backed and is not signed by the photographer. This rare and highly desirable, albumen, CDV Photo of John Wilkes Booth and six of the co-conspirators is in excellent condition - clean and crisp and very well preserved. The Photograph itself exhibits razor sharp focus, strong contrast and rich, warm tonality. There is some light edge wear to the card mount.
