Civil War Co C 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery last vet & Id'd MN soldier cdv set

  
This is an original vintage Civil War era cdv Carte de Viste photograph set of 2 cdv's highlighting the Company C. 1st or First Minnesota Artillery at a large cannon & an id'd Minnesota Civil War soldier - Albert Eldridge from Company D, 1st Minn Heavy Artillery. In the photograph of the large cannon - the man standing next to the soldier with his hand on the cannon is Albert Woolson - the last surviving Civil War Veteran who was a drummer boy for Company C. He passed away in 1956. As shown, the 1st cdv photograph shows a group of Minnesota Union Civil War soldiers around a cannon or artillery battery - per internet research, this photograph was taken when they were stationed in Chattanooga Tennessee.

On the back is written A. As shown, the 2nd cdv photo shows Minnesota soldier Albert Eldridge in full uniform standing with a rifle.

It also appears that he is wearing a holster or knife at his side. There is also a 5 point star on his hat. Per internet research, he was born in New York in 1840 and died in 1924 in Blue Earth Minnesota where he is buried. His gravestone is on the Find A Grave website and also marked Company D Minn.

The words grandson-of-an-ironworker are only on the online images only. Please review Condition Description noted above.
