Antique Civil War era mourning hair bracelet having an elaborately engraved and quite architectural photo locket clasp that opens to reveal a tintype of Dr Bolles, loving husband of Violet. The family name which seems to point in the direction of Ohio? As well as the man's occupation is engraved on the back of the locket while the wife's name can be seen on the locket's face. I think there are at least three different types of weaving here but time, as you can see, has taken its toll on the bracelet.

It does, however, display beautifully, the photograph is in great condition and I absolutely love the clasp with all the ornamentation and its fantastic patina.. Clasp is 2 1/4" long (clasped) by 1 3/8" wide (at its widest).

Not signed for maker nor hallmarked in any way; family name, deceased person's occupation and bearer's name engraved as shown; 1960s-70s. The findings are in excellent condition with great patina and amazing detail; the tintype behind the glass in the locket is in great shape as well; there is damage to the hair part as you can see in the photos.
