Very Rare Large Antique Photo of Famous GETTYSBURG BATTLEFIELD CYCLORAMA PAINTING. DESCRIPTION: A great original, VERY EARLY photo of a very early antique painting.

This huge, round painting of the battle is now in the Gettysburg Battlefield visitor center. 1880, it was put on display in various locations around the country, including Boston, Mass. Before going to its permanent location in Gettysburg. THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN WHILE THE CYCLORAMA WAS ON DISPLAY IN BOSTON AND IS IDENTIFIED ON THE REVERSE AS TAKEN BY ALLEN & ROWELL PHOTOGRAPHERS, 25 WINTER ST.

It shows a close up of one of the sections of the huge battlefield painting. LOADS of action and details visible, including cannon firing, soldiers moving, and removing wounded men on stretchers from the battlefield. A nice sepia photo, measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/4". A very nice print, ALMOST 140 YEARS OLD, VERY SUITABLE FOR FRAMING. A great addition to any Civil War OR GETTYSBURG collection.
