The ornate embroidered Apron and Baldric are sensational. This is a historically important authentic early photo of an old-world Mason. Taken in Woodstock, Illinois by John S. Was an important Illinois photographer. He photographed many individuals involed in the Civil War.

Medlar was a Freemason and member of the Woodstock Knights Templar Commandery. His photography is regarded as having great historic value that will increase with time.
