Type: Ferrotypes aka Tintypes with brass mats, preservers and protective glass. Subject 1 (Left): Gaunt Soldier stands upright in uniform with his bayonet-affixed rifle at his side. Subject 2 (Right): Seated Soldier with awesome hat holds his bayonet-affixed rifle near his side. Images come in a "Union Camp Scene" Thermoplastic case (Berg 1-130) with a geometric back. Nice Addition to Any Military Photograph Collection! Please Note: We have recently acquired a large collection of Civil War Images, 19th Century Thermoplastic "Union" and other Cases, and other various 19th Century Images. Standing soldier tintype shows mild scratching, mat abrasions and silvering. Seated soldier tintype shows some light scratching and some wear to the emulsion on the top left corner.

Both sets of brass mats and preservers show mild patina and age related wear. The case is in good overall condition, showing some small edge chipping and a large chip near the clasp. Hinges are fairly tight and operable, clasp is not functional.
