31st Iowa CIVIL War Officer CDV Photo Identified With Corp Badge

  

A handsome original Civil War CDV photo of a young Iowa officer wearing the distinctive 15th Army Corp badge showing the cartridge box emblem mkd "40 Rounds" , and shoulder rank straps. The photo came with a group of CDV photos of men of the 31st Iowa Volunteer Infantry on muster out at Louisville in 1865; the reverse bears the pencil inscribed name "John Harvey" and photographer imprint by Campbell & Ecker, Louisville, Kentucky. Comes w service info from Steve Meyer's excellent book "Iowa Valor". John H Harvey, from Lafayette, Lynn County Iowa served with A Company, 31st Iowa, 1862-65 Edge wear, Overall Exc.
