They are wearing Virginia Military Institute uniforms. In half of its original case, measuring 3.75" x 3.25". Paper seals are no longer intact, though most remain attached to image, as shown.
Light haze around the mat's edge. No dings or significant damage to the plate, but I did spot some very light. And small scratches and/or swipes around the middle of the image. I couldn't really get them to show up on the scan or my camera shot, and in. Person they are hard to see from most angles, so I would say they don't detract from the image.
