Civil War CONFEDERATE Soldier 1/6 Plate Ambrotype with partial ID

  

A 1/6th plate ambrotype of a Confederate Soldier. The image has a partial ID written on the side of the leatherette case where the leather is gone. The letters appear to be Leric, MC. I've tried for years to figure the ID out but have not been able to. Perhaps someone else is a better sleuth than I.

The soldier is probably from Georgia or North Carolina. Both state have ID'd individuals with the cloth on the cuffs. The buttons are gilted but I think I can seethe columns of the Georgia dome on couple of them. The image comes in a half leatherette case.
