Civil War Photo 1/6th Plate Tintype Union Soldier w/ Excellent Painted Backdrop Used. Very Nice Civil War Period Photograph.

Type: Ferrotype aka Tintype w/ brass mat, preserver and glass. Subject: Unidentified Union Soldier Standing at attention in Full Dress, visible sheathed sword. Appears to be a Private.

His buttons, kepi badge, sword hilt and belt buckle are gilt accented. Awesome painted backdrop of a hillside battlefield and mounted soldier. Fantastic Addition to Any Photograph and/or Civil War Collection!

Please Note: We have recently acquired a large collection of Civil War Images, 19th Century Thermoplastic "Union" and other Cases, and other various 19th Century Images. Image shows very light wear with minor visible mat abrasions and a tiny chip on the man's nose. Contrast is a little dark, but the clarity is nice.

Mat and preserver show mild patina, and typical bending to the preserver flaps. Case has a repaired spine and shows some moderate edge wear.

Interior velvet pad is a bit worn but has a nice design. Also, if you need the item faster we can work with you!
