An original and rare first generation stereoview photograph by an unknown photographer of "Old Bets", a squaw believed to be almost 100 years old and a friend to the white settlers in Minnesota. She is credited with having saved many lives during the Sioux Indian Uprising during the Civil War in 1862. Many settlers were killed and their villages burned until the Indians were defeated by the United States Army. President Lincoln ordered the mass execution of 38 Indian leaders in Mankato, Minnesota, which put an end to the short lived uprising......
