We are offering a CDV photograph of a Civil War Surgeon whom we believe to be Dr. Adams graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1853 and enlisted in the Union army in 1861. He was a assistant surgeon with the 7th Massachusetts Volunteers. He later became captain with the 56th Massachusetts Volunteers and was wounded at Orange Plank Road during the Battle of the Wilderness.

Here he was taken captive and spent four months in Confederate prisons in Virginia. After the war, he had a medical practice until his death in 1902.
