Civil War Militaria Collectors - here is a civil war era collectible portrait engraving of General Franz Sigel. This is period antique not reproductions.
6" x 8" Framed engraving or photo of Civil War Union General Franz Sigel (1824 - 1902) The prior owner of this photo says it is circa 1860's and it is in an old metal frame under glass. (looks a little dusty to me) and metal frame shows patina of age.I don't know if anything is written on the paper other than what can be seen through the glass. According to the internet Sigel was a German Military officer who helped recruit German immigrants to the Union Army.
He was the commander at the Battle of Carthage in Missouri July 5, 1861 & fought at Pea Ridge, Wilson's Creek & 2nd Bull Run.
