Civil War volunteer soldier ruby ambrotype armed with US musket perfect condition

  

Here is a pretty awesome armed civilian ruby ambrotype. It is a sixth plate and is in minty condition. It comes in a full union case with deer motif on the cover too. From what I was told, he has a Federally converted m1816 musket which wouldn't have been in the hands of a civilian.

My educated guess is that this guy is a Confederate volunteer before he got any standard uniform. Image is in perfect condition. It is what it is.
