This is a 1860's - possibly War Time - albumen photograph of Confederate General Robert E, Lee in its original oval frame with its original matting, and glass. I placed an acid free sheet of paper between the wood back and photo back. This appears to be from the 1863 Minnis & Cowell negative. The photograph itself is an oval cut out 6 inches by 4 1/2 inches - within an oval double line border, titled.

LEE see photos of the image out of the frame. There is no photographer name present. Frame is 14 1/2 inches by 12 inches. This framed image was recently found in an old family storage foot locker in Hanover County, Virginia.
