Recto bordered in gold; publisher's decorative backstamp to verso; both sides misidentified in pencil. Exhibits bit of spotting, slight edgewear, else very good. At the outbreak of the Civil War he was appointed Colonel of the 35th Georgia Infantry.
He was wounded at Mechanicsville, and after his recovery fought in almost every major engagement of the Army of Northern Virginia. In 1885, he was appointed Special Agent of the Land Bureau in Kansas, and later served as an Indian Agent in Oklahoma.
