Nice original pair of tintype and cdv photographs of man in uniform taken out of old photo album. I believe he is the same man just a bit older and in a tighter fitting uniform in the cdv photograph. He is holding a sword and sitting.

He is standing in the tintype and the sash on his belt has been colored red. He is identified as Abija Mayhew in the index at the back of the book in both spots where the photos were removed.

The handwriting is not easy to read but photos are included. Looking through the index it seems that it was filled in sometime after the photos were put in the book. Some people are listed as friend of so and so.

He was the 2nd Lt of Company K. He was discharged as a 1st Lt.. From online research I believe he came into service Aug 1,1861 and discharge with disability Sep 23, 1862. This would have been after the Battle of Antietam. My research hasn't been able to reveal when he was injured or how.

The fact that he is sitting down in the picture whern he is older may be coincidence or may be because of injury. Also included is picture of who I believe is his wife. The photos seem to be arranged as husband and wife at the front. She is listed as Aunt Mayhew.

Included are the 3 photos (1 tintype & 2 cdvs). Tintype sealed in white matting.

I did not open it up. Book and index not included. Found in old Massachusetts estate this summer.
