From a White County, Tennessee estate. Civil Way tintype showing soldier proudly posing with his 1860 Colt. Tintype measures 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches.

Tennessee was about evenly split between Union and Confederate enlistees. I showed this to a number of Civil War collectors (more knowledgeable than I) and the consensus was he was probably a western theater Union soldier. However, several noted he could be Confederate. The soldiers cheeks have been tinted red and the belt buckle appears to be gold tinted.. It would display beautifully if mounted in a period tintype case.
