Ulysses S Grant Chromolithograph Middleton & Co in Uniform Civil War 1865

Ulysses S Grant in Uniform Civil War 1865. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! Offered here is a chromolithograph of General Ulysses S. He was the Union commander of the Union Troops in the eastern theatre of the Civil War. The rendering is very well done.

Made to look like an oil painting, but actually an early chromolithograph on canvas. The piece was done by E.

They did about 17 different persons, most being US Presidents, but also captured Robert E Lee. This sort of rendering gave "common folks" the ability to have what looked like an oil painting of one of their national heroes. The piece was done in 1865 and the stamp is still on the back of the canvas.

The artwork has not been examined out of the frame. The wood and plaster frame shows a lot of wear. Plaster loss as seen in pics. Frame is seamed together in four places and the glue has dried out. So, frame is starting to come apart.

Metal hanger wire is off on one side and brittle. Would replace if I were you before hanging. The US Grant Chromolithograph including the frame is 22" tall, by 19" across, by 1-5/8 wide. The artwork is 16" tall by 13" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
