Up for your consideration is this superb Union Ambrotype of a young cavalry trooper with his horse from the Civil War War Between the States. I guess you keep what is important to you close to your heart.

This is a very powerful looking horse and a wonderful study of the McClellan saddle. The amazing thing is that this horse would have to be perfectly still for about ten seconds to get this shot.

The only thing that moved on this horse was his tail. The trooper has gilted buttons and if you turn it just right you can see a light blue tinting on his pants. The image is in fine shape with a few dark spots but overall looks great.

The case has separated but matches. It measures 3 and 1/4 by 4 and 1/4 inches. The velvet is one of the most beautiful and unusually colored one that we have seen--sort of a blue greenish color--stunning. Also this is an outdoor image with also makes it unusual.
