Union Civil War Cavalry Soldier Horse Mounted Sword Tintype Image Leather Case

  
Up for your consideration is this wonderful tintype image of an unknown Union Cavalry trooper from the American Civil War. I'm always amazed at how still these riders get these horses to pose. It is an excellent study of saddle, harness and uniform. His uniform, kepi, and greatcoat are excellent and his sword and parts of the harness have been gilted. Of particular interest is that this image was taken in the snow!

It is the only one that we have encountered during the winter season. The case is missing the cover and the remaining case is very distressed but there. It has a very plain gold frame and the image has very slight bubbling.

It is a large image measuring 3 and 1/4 by 4 and 1/4 inches. The leather case is embossed with a flower motif. A wonderful addition to any collection! I will answer any questions you might have regarding this image to the best of my ability, so please write.
