1/4th Ambrotype of Civil War Camp Scene Photograph

  

1/4th uncased ambrotype of a Federal camp scene dated from July 10th, 1862. Reported to be Thomas W. Johnson II, which might be from the 4th Delaware Inf. A paper says it's from Newton, CT 1862.

At least one Soldier is wearing gaiters, and you can see one A-frame tent clearly, with the outline of two others. The image had was "fixed" by someone prior through gluing down the image side with the emulsion to paper.

The crack might view better inside of a case.
