Ambrotype African American Black Nanny with White Baby --- Slave -- Civil War Era. Photo's cover plate has been written on by original owner with name & date, reads: Wife's Nanny, 1855, I Altman, and one corner I cannot clearly make out.... That will be up to a new owner. Some mild tinting of the child's dress & the Nanny's cheeks, note the nanny's broch & ear rings.

This is a true piece of. A southern historic photo in time. Condition Photo & Case 1/2 -- very good "see all photos". Please use photos as a major part of the description and use ZOOM to SUPERSIZE the piece.
